The main focus of outsourcing for employment abroad in countries like the Philippines is simple: It allows a business the freedom to remove important but non-core processes from daily operation, by offering the work to companies that focus on those facets of business. This allows the businessman or woman to concentrate on the facets of the business that are most important, or that are proprietary in nature.
One of the most enticing advantages attached to the process of outsourcing to companies like the Philippines is the factor of cost effectiveness. The companies that offer human resources and information technology in the United States and even in many European countries are not inexpensive by any means. In other words, outsourcing to inexpensive foreign countries allows businesses to take advantage of what is a much, much lower rate than what is paid in the United States. However, despite the inexpensive price tag, the mass work force in these countries is still highly productive and can produce excellent results.
Thousands of highly intelligent professionals are graduating from schools all over the Philippines, and many of them speak English better than half of the workforce in our own countries. These people are just trying to make their dreams come true by working hard and earning whatever money that they can. By taking on jobs that are outsourced from other countries, these professionals can attain the jobs that they want without having to leave their home country to do so. So outsourcing should not be viewed as a way to steal jobs from American workers, but instead should be viewed as a way to give jobs to poorer countries where professionals who are just as intelligent are desperate for work close to home.
